We start with a Teflon* inner bladder that is surrounded with a Kevlar inner braid (the same stuff used in bulletproof vests). The Kevlar layer is then wrapped in a rubber sheathing followed by stainless steel braid. Finally, the whole thing is wrapped in a plastic sheathing. This combination virtually eliminates hose expansion for better pedal feel, improved braking performance, and superior resistance to chafing. On top of the extraordinarily strong flexible hose, all of our Bulletproof hoses feature crimped ends and a factory-style steel leader at the disc brake caliper to ensure the hose stays routed away from potential hazards, such as tires and wheels, suspension, and drivetrain components.
